Project 3: Building a Brand Identity
Project Overview
For this project you will design a corporate identity system for a fictitious non-profit organization that engages in the field of water. Examples include
_ Water Literacy (education)
_ Water and Social Justice (gender equality)
_ Water and Culture (appreciation / art / imagination)
_ Water and Ecology (biodiversity / climate change / indigenous and emerging technologies)
Building an identity system is not just about pretty pictures. It’s about developing a meaningful set of visuals that reflect the soul of a company, organization or individuals.
NEW: We will join other sections in adding a new topic alongside of water. With the Covid-19 pandemic impacting our lives you can use it as an optional subject. Like the water subject, your company must non-profit in its mission.

Goal
Work with a deep level of information on a subject matter and create a visual design system by exploring conceptual thinking, design elements, typography, etc. Work with a guided set of information to create several pages of a brand guideline.

Brief
Research

You must first become intimate with your water subject matter. Become a minor expert. Gain an understanding of water from a variety of perspectives: cultural, scientific, commercial, spiritual, etc. You should dedicate a good amount of time to ruminate on the subject, cataloging (and sourcing) your findings and conclusions along the way. From here you will create a content map that reflects your research.
Using the conclusions of your research you will then decide on a subject or area that your fictitious non-profit organization focuses on. At this point, select a name as well. Side note on naming. It's hard and most names have been copyrighted, so make sure you double check who is using what, especially in the business of water.
